Reporting Continuing Education Hours Earned

Great Plains Federal Tax Institute – 2009


State of Nebraska Board of Public Accountancy

Institute approved for 15.0 hours CPE

credit;1.0 hour Ethics credit

(Based on 50-minute hour)

Use “Report of Continuing Education Attendance” supplied by the Nebraska Board of Public Accountancy, or use the Board’s online form to report CPE hours.  The form, as well as CPE Guidelines, is available online at:

The form is due to the Board by January 31.

Nebraska MCLE Commission

Institute approved for 13.5 hours of

credit, including one (1) hour of ethics

(Based on 60-minute hour)

Beginning October 1, 2009. you may report participation in continuing legal education activities via the Commission’s web site at www.mcle.ne.gov.   According to the web site, Nebraska attorneys will be mailed a user name and password for accessing this reporting site.  Reporting is a two-part process:  1)  Reporting attendance at approved courses and 2) submitting an annual report, based upon courses added to your transcript.  For more information on the Rules of the Nebraska MCLE Commission, go to http://www.supremecourt.ne.gov/jbe/mcle/mcle.shtml.

 

Iowa Supreme Court Commission on Continuing Legal Education

Institute approved for 13.5 hours of

credit, including one (1) hour of ethics

According to new procedures in 2009, you must file continuing legal education reports and pay associated fees online at the professional regulations web site.  For instructions, a tutorial, and Court Rules regulating CLE, go to:  http://www.iowacourts.gov/Professional_Regulation/Attorney_RegulationCommissions/CLE/.

 

Iowa State Accountancy Board

According to the Iowa Accountancy Board’s web site, “It will be left to each individual license holder to determine the course of study to be pursued.”  For information about Chapter 10, Continuing Education, (including reporting guidelines) go to http://www.state.ia.us/government/com/prof/account/home.html.

 

State of Nebraska Department of Insurance

Institute approved for 1-4 hoursof Life Credit

Course Number SA17098

(Based on 50-minute hour)

You must sign in and out of the each of the four sessions that are accredited:  Current Developments in Federal Income Tax; Current Developments in Estate and Gift Tax; and Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts.  Choose one of the following breakout sessions:  Intermediate Estate Planning:  Beyond the Basics; Selecting the Appropriate Business Entity; or Taxation of Annuities.  Following the Institute, you will be mailed a Certificate of Completion, which you will in turn provide to the Department of Insurance.  For instructions on submitting the Certificate of Completion as well as the Nebraska Continuing Education Evaluation form provided by the Institute (be sure to ask for this form), go to the Department’s website at:

Certified Financial Planners

The Continuing Education Standards of the Certified Financial Planners Board of Standards, Inc. state:

Programs that have been accepted by the state board s of accountancy, state bars or state insurance commissions will be accepted for CE credits provided topics covered are listed in Appendix A. (Section 3)

You should include information about the Institute in your report to the Board at the end of your reporting period.  The Institute recommends that you retain a copy of the program for your records.  If you feel that you require a certificate of attendance, please register the request with the Program Manager at the Institute.
